Szkoła Podstawowa w Surochowie (Jaroslaw, Poland)

Aleksander Fredro Primary School in Surochow is situated in the south-east of Poland near the Ukrainian border. The school was founded in 1919 and is named after Aleksander Fredro, one of the greatest Polish writers. The school has got 95 students and 18 highly qualified and experienced teachers. We have students from 5 to 15 years old.Our curriculum includes the subjects Polish, History, IT, Geography, Biology, Art, Music, Chemistry, Maths, Physics, RE, PE, German and English taught at three levels:nursery, 1-3 classes, 4-8 classes. Our students participate in a lot of extra- curricular classes (dance, speaking English, arts and crafts, volleyball and other sports clubs). The school aim is to give the students an opportunity to gain

knowledge,support their interests and build up their self confidence. We want them to start thinking critically and we intend to develop cognitive capacities as well as emotional skills such as empathy, determination, self-discipline, perseverance, social and intercultural awareness.
